Dr. Scruggs
Dr. Scruggs has been in practicing dentistry in Shreveport for 22 years. He attended LSUS for his undergraduate degree in Biology, and he received his DDS from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Dr. Scruggs trained in implant surgery at the HandsOnTraining Institute in New Jersey, and he has practiced the diagnosis, treatment planning, and placement of implants for several years.
As per his motto, “Gentle care for all ages,” Dr. Scruggs is dedicated to making sure our dental patients are comfortable in the chair. Dr. Scruggs prides himself on making long lasting, beautiful smiles. Whether a large or small case, Dr. Scruggs approaches every patient with the same passion and enthusiasm. He is a dentist that takes his time with every patient to ensure that he or she is satisfied.
In his free time, Dr. Scruggs enjoys spending time with his family. He has four children and one grandchild. He also enjoys competing in triathlons, marathons, and cycling.
Dr. Rae Scruggs
Dr. Rae Scruggs is a third-generation dentist who grew up watching her dad and grandfather serve the community in life-change ways. Growing up she watched her dad serve on mission trips around the world and give out free dentistry. He shared his awe-inspiring stories of peoples whos’ quality of life was completely changed because of the work he helped with. This initially sparked Dr. Scruggs interest in Dentistry along with her love of working with her hands and being creative.
Dr. Scruggs attended LSU for her undergraduate degree in Biology and received her DDS from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Her favorite part of dentistry is seeing a patient look in the mirror and seeing their new smile for the first time. She loves taking a patient that is fearful and unsure about the future of their mouth and giving them the knowledge and confidence to take control of their life again.
She is excited about meeting patients, serving in the community by volunteering and working with her dad. She is passionate about volunteering to do free screenings for homeless teenagers and the large, impoverished area in Shreveport.
In her free time, Dr. Scruggs enjoys spending time with her family. She has two pets Zara and Nora and is expecting her first child, a little girl, and who knows she might be the fourth dentist in the family!
